Neodymium magnets are within the group of Rare Earths, composed of Nd, Fe, B, they are mainly the permanent magnets with the highest remanence and coercivity. This gives them great versatility for new applications.
Products
Gooston manufactures customized neodymium magnets adapted to the needs of your company.
Characteristics of neodymium magnets
Developed in the 80’s, and evolved to the present with a wide variety of powers/grades ranging from N35 to N52 that indicate its product energy related to the magnetic flux. They are the most powerful permanent magnets and with very good values of energy product (BH), Remanence (Br) and coercive (Hc), far exceeding the magnetic values of other qualities such as Ferrite and Alnico.
This type of magnet is obtained by sintering Neodymium, iron and boron oxides, mainly using other oxides such as praseodime to obtain specific characteristics. First, the raw materials are mixed, giving the piece the desired anisotropy. The sintering of the pieces is carried out in a special atmosphere and later they are rectified or cut to the desired size. In the final part they are given the required coating and magnetization. Manufacturing by sintering also allows designs and shapes to be achieved according to need, maintaining close tolerances.

Temperature influences neodymium magnets
Temperature is a factor that must be taken into account in the use of Neodymium magnets. Currently the various Nd,Fe,B alloys allow these magnets to withstand working temperatures of up to 230ºC. The magnetic curves of these magnets at high temperatures vary between 0.65%/Cº and 0.50%/Cº.

Applications of neodymium magnets
The applications in which neodymium magnets are used cover a wide range. They can be used in many applications. They can have infinite shapes from segments, rings, blocks, wedges, discs, trapezoidal type, etc. These can be magnetized in a multitude of ways that are adapted to their use in sensors, magnetic lifters, magnetic bases and much more. One of its most unique assemblies is the Halbach configuration (HALBACH ARRAY), which confers at the end of a specific assembly an increase in the power of the magnets on one of the faces and almost an annulment of the magnetic field on the other.
These Super Strong Neodymium magnets can be produced and supplied in specific configurations in a short period of time compared to other alloys.
Thus, we have as a sample of the field of applications of the Neodymium magnet, apart from its obvious use to hold and raise ferromagnetic elements, uses in electronics for hard drives and large speakers as well as small headphones. Asynchronous type electric motors. High performance electric generators such as windmills. Multipurpose hall and reed probe detectors. High performance permanent magnetic lifters. For the cosmetic industry in packaging for closures and other uses; since in this type of application the fact that this material complies with the RoHS standard is a great advantage.
Security and handling
In the aspect of Safety and Health and its handling, due to its high power, must be carried out under safety conditions, adding the appropriate Epis and external handling elements. ACMagnets98 makes special assemblies for companies of all types of Super Powerful Neodymium magnets due to its extensive experience in this type of assemblies.
