The magnetic base, in English “Pot Magnet”, is basically a permanent magnet. It can be made up of Alnico, Ferrite, Neodymium or Samarium Cobalt magnets, embedded in an iron container mainly in the shape of a cylinder.
These encapsulated magnets or container magnets are a magnetic system where the two poles of the magnet are used.
Quick Reference Chart For Encapsulated Magnets Or Magnetic Bases
PERMANENT MAGNETS | WORKFORCE | WORK TEMPERATURE | AVAILABILITY OF FORMS |
NEODYMIUM BASES | EXTRA STRONG | 80ºC | UPS AND DOWNS |
SAMARIUM COBALT BASES | EXTRA STRONG | 250ºC-350ºC | UPS AND DOWNS |
ALNIC BASES | STRONG | 450ºC | HIGH |
RUBBER BASES | STRONG | 60ºC-80ºC | LOW |
FERRITE BASES | STRONG | 200ºC | LOW |
With this configuration, two things are achieved, mainly: Increase the attractive force on the active face and provide an easy and varied fastening method, in the form of metric or through holes, so that the magnet supports efforts and shocks much better. They have the singularity of having the force of attraction on one of the faces, where the two magnetic poles (North-South) are defined.
Set of magnets and magnetic bases made of ALNICO alloy, with the maximum capacity of resistance to temperature: due to the fact that this alloy has the highest Curie point of all the magnetic alloys, it is one of the oldest series on the market, faithful exponent of its reliability.
In this series there is a wide variety of magnets in magnetic base format. They are all standard, therefore easy to produce and immediately available. Those of the Neodymium type offer us a great variety of shapes and provide the greatest forces of attraction. Those of Samarium Cobalt also offer us great attractive forces and greater working temperature ranges. Ceramic or ferrite magnet bases are cheaper and have good attraction values. As always, Alnico magnets and magnetic bases are the ones to choose if the purpose is to work at high temperatures.
We have as special configurations those of the Sandwich type (maximum energy), of the INOX type to be used in the food, pharmaceutical or chemical industries, those of the magnetic base type of rubber or Rubber magnet to be used in applications that require sliding efforts with respect to the surface of anchorage, such as walls or avoid scratching surfaces.
